New Chanel watch unveiled
Chanel are set to launch the haute joaillerie watch at the Baselworld show in March, the exquisite Première Flying Tourbillon watch. Chanel aficionados will immediately recognize the dial’s profile as being inspired by the octagonal geometry of the iconic No. 5 perfume bottle stopper.
Melding aesthetics with functionality, the dial’s camellia motif is first and foremost a tribute to Mademoiselle Chanel’s favorite flower. However, the floral motif is also ingeniously incorporated into the movement: the flying tourbillon makes one rotation per minute, with the petals indicating the seconds.Produced in a limited edition of just 20 numbered pieces, the Première Flying Tourbillon’s 18-carat white gold bezel is set with 101 baguette-cut diamonds for a total of 5.2 carats, and 127 brilliant-cut diamonds for a total of 2 carats.
